The BAU Cyprus Economics undergraduate program provides a comprehensive education aimed at equipping students with skills to learn and analyze economic processes from a holistic perspective. The science of economics examines social science processes such as production, consumption, trade, distribution, import, and export, and throughout the program, students develop the ability to track, observe, and supervise the economic operations of countries, companies, institutions, and organizations worldwide. The Economics department aims to teach students economic theories and analysis techniques, as well as research, evaluation, and inference skills. The curriculum starts with fundamental theoretical courses and includes content updated according to the demands of the era; students learn about economic events comprehensively through courses such as Basic Economics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Environmental Economics, Money and Banking, International Economics, Statistics, Development Economics, and History of Economic Thought. The program allows students to approach real economic phenomena critically, providing practical field courses alongside theoretical knowledge and enabling graduates to acquire competencies such as analytical thinking, problem-solving, innovative approach, and international perspective. Graduates have a wide range of working areas such as banking, foreign exchange markets, sales and marketing, economic analysis in the public and private sectors, consulting, and data evaluation, as specialized individuals in the field of economics, and can contribute to economic decision-making processes.
