BAU Cyprus Faculty of Law aims to train competent lawyers on a global scale with its four-year LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws) program, which offers students an education based on English Common Law standards and international standards. While ensuring students have a deep understanding of the fundamental principles of law, the program also allows them to evaluate the functioning of legal systems, judicial processes and the international legal order from an analytical perspective. The program, conducted entirely in English, provides a strong foundation for graduates to work effectively in international legal environments.
As part of the curriculum, students take comprehensive courses in essential areas such as constitutional law, contract law, criminal law, commercial law, human rights law, and international law, and gain skills in interpreting legal texts, conducting case analysis, and developing legal arguments. Through education in small classes, students have the opportunity to establish one-on-one interactions with the academic staff and develop their professional competencies such as critical thinking, written and oral advocacy, and ethical decision-making. With practical teaching methods such as moot court activities, case analyses, and legal clinics, students gain the experience to adapt their theoretical knowledge to real-life legal scenarios.
BAU Cyprus Faculty of Law aims to equip its students not only with professional knowledge but also with the awareness of justice, ethical responsibility, respect for human rights, and social awareness. Graduates possess the qualifications to continue their careers in national and international law firms, public institutions, international organizations, the private sector, or in academia. With its multicultural educational environment, the faculty trains legal professionals who make a difference in the changing and evolving global order by instilling a global legal vision in its students.
