The BAU Cyprus Architecture Department aims to train graduates who possess the requirements of the architecture profession, are eager to learn, actively participate, and have developed skills in relationship building, synthesis, critique, and interpretation. The program focuses on nurturing contemporary architects as individuals who are socially responsible, environmentally sensitive, and capable of planning their creative ideas with a team of experienced faculty. It also provides students with support through workshops and field applications. During the educational process, students are equipped with core architectural knowledge such as design, materials knowledge, construction techniques, architectural history, and theory, while also learning the computer software they will use in design development. In their third and fourth years, they develop their design skills by working on projects at increasing scales, enhancing their ability to design at the urban scale while applying research and principles of environmental compatibility. Additionally, through elective courses, students can enrich their knowledge of various disciplines within the field of architecture and have the opportunity to discover their own talents to guide their professional lives. Graduates have the chance to open their own offices as architects to international standards or to participate professionally in construction and design processes in the public, municipal, and private sectors.
