The BAU Cyprus Psychology Department offers a comprehensive education based on the scientific examination of behavior and mental processes; the science of psychology is structured to combine multidisciplinary research methods, making it one of the most important fields of science in the modern age.
The program is a four-year undergraduate course providing students with extensive knowledge of contemporary psychological theories, research techniques and the sub-disciplines of psychology; the language of instruction is entirely in English. Within the program, students are introduced to various fields of psychology, such as Developmental Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and Health Psychology, and they learn the importance of ethical guidelines in both research and practice.
In the first year, students are familiarized with fundamental theories of human behavior; in the second year, they take courses in research methods and subfields such as social or developmental psychology; in the third year, deeper topics such as cognitive, physiological, experimental, and learning psychology are explored, and in the final year, students are prepared for professional life through practical-oriented courses.
Graduates can work in various fields such as psychological counseling centers, rehabilitation and educational institutions, health organizations, gaining skills in behavior analysis, research execution, and report writing, or they can specialize with a master's degree.
