BAU Cyprus Social Work Bachelor's Programme offers comprehensive education aimed at training equipped specialists in social policies, protective services, and intervention strategies to enhance the welfare of individuals, families, and society. The programme focuses on developing students' skills in social justice, human rights, ethical values, and generating solutions to social problems faced by society. The curriculum provides practical knowledge in areas such as case management, crisis intervention, child and family services, working with the elderly, addiction, and rehabilitation, starting from the historical and theoretical foundations of social work. In this programme, taught in English, students gain competencies to work with both individuals and communities and have the opportunity to develop practical social work skills through field experiences.
In the final years of the programme, students experience real social work practices through internships and field studies; thus, when they graduate, they possess professional competencies such as community-based problem solving, teamwork, leadership, and ethical decision-making. Graduates can work in various areas of social work, such as public institutions, non-governmental organizations, health and education institutions, or continue their advanced academic studies.
